Jezero Crater

£200.00

Custom software, drawing robot, Fisher space pen on yupo paper. 30 x 30cm unframed. Edition of one - this is a unique original drawing, not a print. The centre of this drawing marks out the edge of Jezero Crater, where the first ever field recording from Mars was made in February 2021. The drawing is created from three 230 meter long spirals emanating from the crater, each made with a different ballpoint pen, including one of the kind currently used in the International Space Station. The lines are distorted by the sound of the audio recording of Martian wind captured by the Perseverance rover.

For each drawing sold, I will donate £5 to Trees for Life, to offset carbon and support the rewilding of the Scottish Highlands.

A note on care of the drawings: where possible I use ink that is certified for archival purposes, however even these inks can fade or change colour when exposed to UV light. I recommend avoiding hanging original drawings in direct sunlight, and using UV filtering glass when framing if possible.
